BEYONDISM
Daring to Grow into Your Fullest, Most Authentic Self
Managing Life's Hardships Through Sacred Inner Work
✦
A spirit of honest, fearless inquiry is the guiding star of BEYONDISM. To be a devoted Beyondist is not merely to love and seek wisdom (philosophy) — it is also to be lit from within by a philosophical sense of humour (hilarity). In every chapter of this journey, you will encounter the precise, plain-language definition of three key therapeutic words [KW] drawn from the trusted Encarta Dictionary (2009) [ED], delightfully seasoned by American satirist Ambrose Bierce (1842–1914) from The Devil's Dictionary (1911) [DD].
1st KW: DICTIONARY, noun.
ED: A reference book listing words in alphabetical order with their meanings, grammar, pronunciation, and origins.
DD: A harmful device for keeping language stiff and preventing it from growing naturally. This particular dictionary, however, is rather useful.
2nd KW: PHILOSOPHY, noun.
ED: The disciplined study of deep concepts such as truth, existence, reality, cause, and freedom.
DD: A collection of many roads, each leading from nowhere to nothing.
3rd KW: HUMORIST, noun.
ED: Someone known for being funny and quick-witted.
DD: A kind of torment that would have melted even Pharaoh's stubborn heart and made him cheerfully send Israel on its way.
