Anger toward another person is like taking poison and expecting someone else to die! I can now imagine the harm I am doing to my body when I stay within negative emotions or unprocessed emotional experience throughout the body. It does not help to hold back or deny my emotions. The very nature of energy is movement. When I bury or control my feelings, their energy cannot flow outward properly and dissipate naturally. I may think I have controlled how I felt, but the energy of it is still at work. Suppressing emotions uses up a lot of energy, which robs my body of energy that should be used for vital functions. Negative emotions tax my adrenal glands and use up nutrients the body needs to sustain itself. The result is fatigue and lowered vitality. I have understood that, energy has to move. If an emotion is not expressed (outward movement), it is suppressed (inward movement). The result of controlling or stifling emotional energy is frustration, anger, depression, physical pain, control issues, emotional shut-down, or self-sabotage. Self-judgement, low self-esteem and unworthiness may develop. This inhibits my ability to create or receive what I really want in LIFE; I learn to expect little joy in my LIFE and settle for less than my soul needs to flourish.

As such, pain in my NECK implies my refusing to see the other sides of the question, stubbornness and inflexibility. Pain in my SHOULDERS implies my inability to carry experiences in my LIFE joyously. The message my body is relaying to me is that I am making my LIFE a burden by my negative attitude. Whatever it may be, instead of simply reacting, slow things down and observe. I will find I have the tools to process emotions and illness quickly when I see them for what they are and explore why they came up.

When I have a pain, tightness or injuries in certain areas, it is often related to something emotionally I am feeling within myself. At first glance it may not seem this way because I am usually very out of touch with myself and my emotions in this fast paced world, but it is often the truth. When I have chronic pains in a particular section of my body it is not exercise, physio or anything in a physical sense that may heal it, it is when I deal with the emotions behind it. I may spend the time and money going to physio and even though I want and believe I would get better, I should not be surprised that something will not be addressed still. The more I address the unconscious thought pattern and emotions throughout my body, the more things loosen up and pain will eventually go away.

DISPOSE: -
As the electrical current of an emotion travels along my neural pathways, it triggers the release of chemical proteins called neuro-peptides (NPs). Each emotion has a different frequency that triggers the release of specific NPs. These tiny chemical proteins communicate chemical messages throughout my body, creating a physiological response. My body produces a thousand different neuro-peptides, each controlling different physiological functions. Adrenalin, hormones, oxytoxin, endorphins--these are all NPs. Each neuro-peptide creates such specific biological responses, that physical symptoms can actually pinpoint what is really happening in my unconscious mind! For instance, happiness, joy, laughter cause the release of endorphins. Endorphins are powerful opiates that make me feel good. They boost my immune system, relax muscles, elevate my mood, and dampen pain. Adrenalin, cortisol and norepinephrine releases when I feel fear, anxiety or stress. They cause my heart to beat faster, and blood vessels to dilate, making my skin flush. Rapid, shallow breathing ensues. Muscles tighten, especially around the stomach and shoulder area. A slight sweat may break out. The purpose of adrenalin is to place my body in a high-alert rapid-response flight-or-flight state. In emergencies, this is beneficial, as it aids escape. But, over a long period, adrenalin can be very damaging to my body. It suppresses my immune system, impairs digestion, uses up vital vitamins and minerals, causes pain and stiffness, makes my body acidic resulting in inflammation, and drains vitality. And, adrenalin is highly addictive. My body may become accustomed to over-stimulation over time, and eventually needs it to maintain higher energy levels. I have realised that those who have experienced extended periods of adrenal overload from childhood, such as those who grew up in homes with an alcoholic or critical parent, or those who experienced physical or verbal abuse, will often unconsciously create crises in their lives to get another adrenalin rush. Or, they may crave sugar or foods to which they are allergic, as these also stimulate the adrenal gland.

Negative emotions have a more dense, slower vibration and are heavier, so they sink to the lower parts of my body. My legs, calves and feet store much of my trauma, resentment, jealousy, and emotional pain, both past and present. Shame has the most devastating effect, followed by guilt, apathy, grief, fear, anxiety, craving, anger and hate. Negative emotions actually weaken my body, while positive emotions strengthen my body. Powerful emotions such as pain, disappointment, panic, and longing, shock my body like an electrical charge, leaving scars or lesions along my neural pathways.
