May you gainfully get the 1st ILLIMITABLE INSPIRATION!
What an individual wants but does not get, he or she seeks for it unceasingly.
And he or she becomes dangerously ready to jump at any hope, good or bad.
The cure for this MALADY in our African context is obvious.
We need a validated, usable system of human values (BEYONDISM).
That we can bounteously believe in and deeply devote ourselves to.
Because it is TRUE, rather than because we are exhorted to "believe and have faith" in it.
We get our raw materials from the MEANING of LIFE as DISCERNED by the MASTERS of THOUGHT:
- "Is life worth living? This is a question for an embryo, not for a man".
- British painter, writer and musician Samuel Butler (1835-1902) - "The question of the purpose of human life has been raised countless times, it has never received a satisfactory answer and perhaps does not admit one".
- Austrian psychologist Sigmund Freud (1856 - 1939) - "Life is not a problem to be solved, but a mystery to be lived and a source of revealation".
- Irish poet and playwright W.B Yeats (1865 - 1939) - "Fortunately, in her kindness and patience, Nature has never put the fatal question as to the meaning of their lives into the mouths of most people. And where no one asks, no one needs to answer...The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are".
- Swiss-born psychologist Carl Gustav Jung (1875 - 1961) - "Life is the eternal text, the burning bush by the edge of the path from which God speaks".
- Spanish writer and philosopher Jose Ortega y Gassel (1883 - 1955) - "One should not search for an abstract meaning of LIFE. Everyone has his own specific vocation or mission in LIFE to carry out a concrete assignment which demands fulfillment. Therein he cannot be replaced, nor can his life be repeated. Thus, everyone's task is unique as is his specific opportunity to implement it".
- German-born US psychologist Victor Frankl (1905 - 1997) - "For us humans, it is not a question of wondering whether our presence in the world is useful, whether life is worth the trouble of being lived; these questions make no sense. It is a matter of knowing whether we want to live or not and under what conditions".
- French novelist, playwright, philosopher, autobiographer and essayist Simone de Beauvoir (1908 - 1986)
