The BEYONDIST solemn star invokes: In as much as we therapeutically travel the COMPRESSED COSMIC path of MEANING, PURPOSE, and VALUE, this then is a MUST-READ 'Before BEYONDISM Boldly Banishes Blatant Burdening BELIEFS (7B's)' from thy innards. As a point of departure, be 'Cursor Concise', by keeping your Cursor at the sidelines of the Monitor. The Text-Slides are so sensitive that you should be able to hover (not click) only to a localized area of your choice, and from a particular direction. Otherwise, if you hover arbitrarily you will get very nagging results (Slides overlap). In most instances (and this applies to all Slides throughout this WEBSITE), hover from Left to Right, unless the content you want to hover on is positioned at the Right side, next to another on the Left side. Here are SEVEN TIPS: 1. On the revolving title (below) 'AFROBeyondistCivilization', hover either from Left or Right. 2. On the marquee 'Here felicitously flows our Cosmic Chant. ' and on the blink 'GILBERT', hover from Right. 3. On the SlideShow (where our main LOGO alternates with the LOGOs of CODEs and PROJECTs), hover from Left. 4. On the plate 'BEYONDISM', hover from Left. On the expanding-reducing plate below 'BEYONDISM', hover from Left. 5. In the event the Text-Slide becomes LARGER than the Screen area, place the Cursor (without clicking) in the Text-Slide then use Up and Down Arrow Keys to navigate. 6. On the 3D rotating Gallery, hover your Cursor on the specific plate you want to pause. 7. These TIPS applies to the WEB-Page section you are facing right NOW (and all introductory parts of other WEB-Pages, albeit in a different manner). In the event the MUSIC plays without your authority, when navigating through the content in the sub-menus on the Home page, click 'Reload the current page (Ctrl+R)'. What an individual wants but does not get, he or she seeks for it unceasingly.
And he or she becomes dangerously ready to jump at any hope, good or bad.
The cure for this MALADY in our African context is obvious.
We need a validated, usable system of human values (BEYONDISM).
That we can bounteously believe in and deeply devote ourselves to.
Because it is TRUE, rather than because we are exhorted to "believe and have faith" in it.
We get our raw materials from the MEANING of LIFE as DISCERNED by the MASTERS of THOUGHT:

  1. "Is life worth living? This is a question for an embryo, not for a man".
    - British painter, writer and musician Samuel Butler (1835-1902)

  2. "The question of the purpose of human life has been raised countless times, it has never received a satisfactory answer and perhaps does not admit one".
    - Austrian psychologist Sigmund Freud (1856 - 1939)

  3. "Life is not a problem to be solved, but a mystery to be lived and a source of revealation".
    - Irish poet and playwright W.B Yeats (1865 - 1939)

  4. "Fortunately, in her kindness and patience, Nature has never put the fatal question as to the meaning of their lives into the mouths of most people. And where no one asks, no one needs to answer...The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are".
    - Swiss-born psychologist Carl Gustav Jung (1875 - 1961)

  5. "Life is the eternal text, the burning bush by the edge of the path from which God speaks".
    - Spanish writer and philosopher Jose Ortega y Gassel (1883 - 1955)

  6. "One should not search for an abstract meaning of LIFE. Everyone has his own specific vocation or mission in LIFE to carry out a concrete assignment which demands fulfillment. Therein he cannot be replaced, nor can his life be repeated. Thus, everyone's task is unique as is his specific opportunity to implement it".
    - German-born US psychologist Victor Frankl (1905 - 1997)

  7. "For us humans, it is not a question of wondering whether our presence in the world is useful, whether life is worth the trouble of being lived; these questions make no sense. It is a matter of knowing whether we want to live or not and under what conditions".
    - French novelist, playwright, philosopher, autobiographer and essayist Simone de Beauvoir (1908 - 1986)

In philosophy (herein conceived simply as Love (Gk: philo) of Knowledge (Gk: sophia)) the most fundamental and central question has been: What Is Being? This problem has been around right from the pre-Socratic period to our own day. It was first articulated by Greek philosopher Parmenides (born about 515 BCE), and in his attempt to render answer to this very question of Being, he maintains that "whatever is, is being". Linguistically, the word 'Being' is considered to signify something which by existing is doing the function of the verb "to be" and in this context, it is something which has merely the capacity to exist. Thus Being as noun signifies essence and Being as participle connotes the act of existing. These are the two basic insights into the term Being.

Beyondism · Self-Actualization · African Renaissance

The Philosophy of Becoming

Six thinkers. One civilizational truth.

Introduction

Plato envisioned a higher realm of truth beyond appearances; Aristotle grounded that truth in purposeful living. Epicurus taught that inner peace, not excess, sustains the soul. Freud revealed hidden wounds shaping our choices, while Jung urged us to integrate our shadow into wholeness. Adler reminded us that striving for significance drives human growth. Together, these minds point toward one truth: humanity must evolve beyond its current self. In the African Renaissance, this evolution is collective — rooted in Ubuntu, ancestral wisdom, and cultural dignity. Self-Actualization is not merely personal; it is communal, spiritual, and civilizational becoming.

I · Plato

The Ascent Toward the Ideal

Plato believed that the world we see is merely a shadow of a higher, perfect reality — the realm of Forms. True knowledge, he argued, is not found in the senses but in the disciplined ascent of the mind toward eternal truth. In the context of Beyondism, Plato's ascent mirrors humanity's evolutionary obligation to transcend its present limitations and reach toward a nobler existence. For the African Renaissance, this ascent is a reclamation — a rising from the shadows of colonialism, cultural erasure, and intellectual marginalization toward the radiant Forms of African identity, philosophy, and excellence. Self-Actualization, in Platonic terms, is the soul's journey from ignorance to enlightenment, from the cave of conditioned existence to the sunlit open plain of realized potential. Africa's renaissance is precisely this: a collective emergence from a cave not of its own making, into the full brilliance of self-determined becoming.

II · Aristotle

The Purposeful Life

Aristotle departed from his teacher Plato by insisting that truth and purpose are embedded within the living world itself, not beyond it. His concept of eudaimonia — often translated as flourishing or happiness — described a life fully aligned with one's deepest capacities and virtues. Beyondism extends this idea by arguing that each civilization, like each individual, carries within it an evolutionary telos — a directional purpose that must be consciously cultivated and surpassed. For Africa, Aristotle's eudaimonia finds expression in the African Renaissance as a civilizational flourishing: the deliberate cultivation of science, governance, art, and philosophy rooted in African soil. Self-Actualization, in Aristotelian terms, is not an accident but an achievement — the result of disciplined virtue, reasoned choices, and communal excellence. Africa's highest purpose is not imitation of others but the full expression of its own distinctive genius.

III · Epicurus

The Sovereignty of Inner Peace

Epicurus taught that the highest human good is ataraxia — a profound tranquility of mind undisturbed by fear, superstition, or the relentless chase of material excess. He urged his followers to withdraw from the noise of ambition and cultivate simple, meaningful pleasures rooted in friendship, reflection, and self-sufficiency. Within Beyondism, this inner sovereignty is not passive retreat but a necessary foundation — for no civilization can evolve beyond itself while perpetually tormented by anxiety, dependency, and existential insecurity. The African Renaissance calls for precisely this Epicurean grounding: a psychological and cultural sovereignty that refuses to measure African worth by external validation or colonial standards. Self-Actualization demands that the individual — and the community — first achieve freedom from internal chaos before ascending to higher creative and civilizational expression. Africa's healing, like Epicurus' garden, must be cultivated deliberately, quietly, and from within.

IV · Freud

The Courage to Confront the Wound

Sigmund Freud revolutionized human self-understanding by revealing that beneath the surface of conscious life lie buried traumas, repressed desires, and unresolved conflicts that silently govern behavior. His psychoanalytic vision insisted that healing requires the courage to descend into the uncomfortable depths of the self and bring hidden wounds into conscious awareness. Beyondism incorporates this Freudian imperative by acknowledging that no individual or civilization can evolve beyond its present state while unconscious wounds remain unexamined and unhealed. The African Renaissance must therefore engage in a profound collective psychoanalysis — confronting the deep historical traumas of slavery, colonialism, and cultural humiliation, not to remain imprisoned by them, but to metabolize and transcend them. Self-Actualization cannot be achieved by bypassing pain; it must pass directly through it. Africa's greatness lies not in forgetting its wounds but in transforming them into sources of wisdom, resilience, and visionary strength.

V · Jung

The Integration of the Whole Self

Carl Jung expanded Freud's vision by mapping the vast terrain of the collective unconscious — a deep psychic reservoir shared by all humanity, populated by archetypes, myths, and symbols that shape individual and cultural identity. He taught that wholeness requires the courageous integration of the shadow — those parts of the self that have been denied, suppressed, or projected onto others. Beyondism embraces this Jungian imperative as evolutionary necessity: a species that cannot integrate its shadow is condemned to repeat its destructions. For the African Renaissance, Jung's call to wholeness is a call to reclaim the full spectrum of African identity — not only its glories but also its internal contradictions, forgotten traditions, and suppressed spiritual depths. Self-Actualization, in Jungian terms, is individuation — becoming fully and authentically oneself, neither a copy of another nor a prisoner of one's wounds. Africa's renaissance is an act of civilizational individuation: the bold integration of ancestral memory, contemporary innovation, and future vision.

VI · Adler

The Striving for Significance

Alfred Adler placed at the center of human psychology the powerful drive for superiority — not domination over others, but the deeply human striving to overcome inferiority, develop one's capacities, and contribute meaningfully to the community. He taught that feelings of inferiority, when courageously confronted, become the very engine of growth, creativity, and social contribution. Beyondism finds in Adler's vision a powerful evolutionary principle: that civilizations, like individuals, are propelled forward by the creative tension between where they are and where they are capable of becoming. The African Renaissance is profoundly Adlerian — it is a collective refusal of imposed inferiority, a reclamation of agency, and a determined striving toward excellence rooted not in comparison with others but in the full realization of Africa's own vast potential. Self-Actualization, for Adler, is inseparable from social feeling — the actualized self uplifts its community and transforms personal strength into collective advancement. Africa rises not one individual at a time, but as an interconnected community of strivers.

VII · Synthesis

One Vision, Many Voices

Plato, Aristotle, Epicurus, Freud, Jung, and Adler each illuminated a different corridor of the human condition, yet together they map a single, unified journey — the journey of becoming. Plato calls us upward toward ideal truth; Aristotle roots that truth in purposeful, virtuous living. Epicurus reminds us to cultivate inner sovereignty before reaching outward; Freud demands that we descend into our wounds before we can truly ascend. Jung insists we integrate every shadow into our wholeness; Adler drives us forward with the engine of courageous striving. Beyondism synthesizes these voices into an evolutionary philosophy: humanity's highest calling is not comfort or survival but conscious, moral, and civilizational transcendence. The African Renaissance embodies this synthesis in history and flesh — it is a people choosing ascent over resignation, integration over fragmentation, and purposeful flourishing over inherited limitation. Self-Actualization, in its fullest expression, is not merely a personal achievement; it is Africa rising, whole and sovereign, into its next and greatest chapter.

Operationally actually allowing defeatism to creep in your PSYCHE is lethal.
Negativity dissolves power....
Negativity duly dominating your internal monologue and SELF-concept is fatal.
Conscious mastery...
Comparativelly, you will just begin to despise and short-change yourself.

Regretting later in your LIFE will be your trial, when you cannot retract.

to the 1st Beyondist Bell

WAKE-UP! O gallant son or daughter of Africa.
See LIFE as full of BEAUTY.
Soulfully acknowledge and appreciate Nature and GOD.
Notice the bumble bee, the small child, and the smiling faces.
Smell the rain, and feel the wind.
Live your LIFE to the fullest potential.
Audaciously fight for your dreams.

SURELY SEEKING PERSONAL FREEDOM FIRST, is the fount of collective FREEDOM and general political LIBERATION. It is the leverage upon which the conditions essential for progress are made possible and actualized. It is the springboard upon which the ideal of a harmoniously integrated progressive society will be attained. Eventually, each one of us will graduate from the 'varsity of LIFE' with honours — contributing to the PARADISE in the HERE and NOW.

1. When under temptation to lose our cool!

As our future is duly pregnant with hopes of redemption,
Our souls really reserve the right to absolute FREEDOM.
This is from all vexations, disturbances and humiliations.
It is a core right which is the most vital prime IMPULSE,
Upon which our MINDS are competently EMPOWERED,
To boldly climb the mountain of COGNITIVE evolution,
Towards the luminous summit of PSYCHIC PRESENCE.

Verily, to let loose our essence is our divine condemnation.
In the midst of regretful encounters and decadent betrayals.
Amongst myriad sorrowful raptures and even fallen ideals.
The growth of potent seeds of an AFRICAN RENAISSANCE,
Lies in transfiguring all and everything into a bright image.
Of our greatest ideals as well as our remotest conceivable aims.
Blessed are we who pronounces the Greatness of our Times.

1
2. When our freedom is threatened!

In total regard to our continual strives and endeavours,
To break-away from the degrading demeaning prison,
Of inherent PSYCHIC enslavement and EGO decadence.
Our fundamental rule of thumb shall purposively be:
Utmost non-negotiation with all forces and agents,
Of repressions, of regressions, as well as of depressions.
Construing no exception enough to cloud this RULE.

Verily, we must totally cut off all the shackles and manacles.
This is even if to the extent of being temporarily wrecked off.
Or falling unto the danger of suffering momentary grief.
It is to indulge in continual acquisition by ever-sacrificing.
This is the progressive language of an AFRICAN RENAISSANCE.
Whose bottom line is affluently aspiring to be wealthy and healthy.
Blessed are we who pronounces the Greatness of our Times.

2
3. On balancing personal needs with social requirements!

We should overtly accept the norms and conventions,
Which our naïve and insecure society exacts on us,
Only to the extent they oil the wheel of social relations,
And allow us to take liberty with its rules and laws.
Always being cautious not to talk disdainfully about it,
Seizing the privilege of doing gracefully what we want,
Aligning ourselves not to their letter but to their spirit.

Verily, cultivating the most intense and deep conviction,
That we have before us a greenly undiscovered territory;
The stimulating dream of an AFRICAN RENAISSANCE.
The boundaries of which no one has yet seen or witnessed;
A BEYOND to all areas, corners of any ideal known hitherto,
Endowed with all-encompassing beauty and utmost divinity.
Blessed are we who pronounces the Greatness of our Times.

4. In regard to proclaiming our personal independence!

Being and becoming our distinct independent selves,
Is the dedicated and confessed upon line of growth,
About which we should not tolerate or rather condone,
Even the least aberration, minor obstacle or impediment.
Any possibility of compromise should be thrown away,
And any suggestion at deviation, bending or corruption,
Should be frowned upon instantly and categorically.

Verily, the cravings of our conscience and consciousness,
Having been for so long saddened and bogged down,
By slavish dependencies and ill-fated depravations.
Having been conditioned to look at our worthiest hopes,
With ill-concealed amusements and bare satisfactions,
An AFRICAN RENAISSANCE shall be a new well-spring.
Blessed are we who pronounces the Greatness of our Times.

5. On guarding our psychic boundaries from intruders!

After enduring the spine-crushing blows of slave trade,
After overcoming the soul-destroying kicks of colonialism,
After traversing the mind-suffocating slaps of dictatorships,
The painful scars of Cold War are still fresh in our psyches,
When in competition, foreign powers sowed seeds of discord,
As altruism was squeezed out from our hearts' sanctuaries.
So, let us guard our psychic territories from further intrusion.

Verily, an AFRICAN RENAISSANCE is the first gush,
Of the recovery of the ill-body of our mother continent.
And this self-curative process will candidly continue,
To unimaginable splendid healthy and strong conditions.
As the African rises one's head high, eyes staring forward,
Trampling down all crushing messages on our impotence.
Blessed are we who pronounces the Greatness of our Times.

6. On putting supreme value to personal growth!

The most graceful and elevating exit from stagnation,
Is to break off and move away from a deceitful past;
From vegetative, sluggish, safe comforts of a former era.
And ascertain the safe haven of the present and future,
Where the real resources of our purposive thrive abides,
Rising from the paralysis that threatens to overtake us,
Violently thrusting ourselves into supreme exhilaration.

Verily, to escape from danger, ruin and gnawing abasement,
From the blindness and self-mutilation of our self-negation,
Of turning our heads hither sideways and ever backwards,
The call for an AFRICAN RENAISSANCE exhorts us,
To put aside all later days solemnities in bearing and word,
And in our truest involuntary activities, our hour hand moves.
Blessed are we who pronounces the Greatness of our Times.

7. In regard to celebrating the victories of others!

Our sense and sensibility should timely come to our rescue,
And be our guiding star in this night of prejudices and biases;
Deliver us from the caves where nothing but darkness abides.
Sense would mean total objective and reasoned discernment,
Of everyone's fallibility irrespective of one's position in LIFE.
Sensibility would mean the objective and expressive response,
To the recognizable worth of each individual's distinct traits.

Verily, it is true that we are all over in all corners of our LIFE,
Surrounded by most rogue people who can barely appreciate,
Even the least of our successes and happiness without envy.
But an AFRICAN RENAISSANCE merrily invokes upon us,
To wish for the best of everything and anything to everybody,
Everywhere, in most of time and in barely all circumstances.
Blessed are we who pronounces the Greatness of our Times.

✦ Numinous Note #1 ✦

No single individual is righteous enough to govern another,
Without his or her real consent, unless upon force or deceit.
Or impart knowledge without co-operation or collaboration.
When the atmosphere is conducive, with proper inspirations,
There is the facilitation of effortless absorption of knowledge.
One is then encouraged and empowered to think for oneself.
One's eyes are fully focused unflinchingly unto the 'existence'.

What DO we love in others?

Our hopes, desires, dreams and aspirations.

Verily, cultivating the most intense and deep conviction,
That we have before us a greenly undiscovered territory;
The stimulating dream of an AFRICAN RENAISSANCE.
The boundaries of which no one has yet seen or witnessed;
A BEYOND to all areas, corners of any ideal known hitherto,
Endowed with all-encompassing beauty and utmost divinity.
Blessed are we who pronounces the Greatness of our Times.
