Reality Assumption, is the view of things as we think they really are, the kind of people we think we are and the nature of the world we live in. Value Assumption, is our view of the way things should be, of right and of wrong, good and bad, desirable and undesirable. Possibility Assumption, is our view of how things could be, their possibility for change and their opportunities for growth and progress. These three set of assumptions are the framework of personality of a given individual and society. In all basic and essential manifestations, a strong 'Frame of Reference' is the lifeblood of a sound 'identity' and the skeleton of an 'Active SELFHOOD'. Identity results in a sense of coherence that enable one to resolve one's conflicts adaptively. Previous continuities are called into question as young people begin to reconnect the roles and skills that they have developed into a mature sense of identity. The resolution of these conflicts, in order to READILY REALIGN yourself to your developmental process, can be divided into SEVEN parts:

Realising the importance of Temporal Perspective versus Time Confusion. This means gaining a sense of time so as to be able to coordinate past, present and be able to plan on achieving your future goals based on realistic assessment of your chances.

Enacting the centrality of Self-certainty versus Self-consciousness. This involves developing self-confidence based on past experience and believing that you have a reasonable chance of achieving future goals.

Accommondating the imperative of Role Experimentation versus Role Fixation. You have opportunity to try different ways of acting, dressing, try different ideologies to find out who you really is. Learning about the dynamism of Apprenticeship versus Work Paralysis. You have an opportunity to try out different occupational environments before settling down to a vocation. This will allow you to have a clear sense of what you would like to be in terms of occupations.

Intimately understanding the nature of Sexual Polarisation versus Bisexual Confusion. It is important for you to identify with your gender as a basis for future heterosexual relationships. For proper functioning of the community, it is very important for men and women to be willing to take their proper roles.

Gaining appropriate appreciation of Leadership and Followership versus Authority Confusion. As you expand your social networks, you will learn to take leadership roles and also learn how to follow the leaders. This is so because every kind of human grouping has leaders and one has to learn to play the right role.

Never being blind of the choice of Ideological Commitment versus Confusion of Values. This is basically 'search for fidelity'. Here, you are liable to choose an ideology to which you can make personal commitment.

IDENTITY is not a set of fixed attributes, the unchanging essence of the inner self, but a constantly shifting process of positioning. We tend to think of identity as taking us back to our roots, the part of us which remains essentially the same across time. In fact, identity is always a never-completed process of becoming - a process of shifting identifications, rather than a singular, complete, finished state of being.

Greek philosopher and scientist Aristotle, shares with Plato and Socrates the distinction of being the most famous of ancient philosophers. Aristotle asserts that happiness (Greek Eudaimonia) derives from "self-sufficiency" — the application of reason to fulfill one's innate abilities. His Teleology is based on the proposition that the universe has design and purpose. It's not about temporary pleasure; it's about fulfilling your potential as a human being across virtues (Greek arete), knowledge, creativity, and leadership.

Austrian physician and neurologist Sigmund Freud, is the founder of psychoanalysis, and created an entirely new approach to the understanding of human personality. Freud explored the deep structures of the human mind — especially the unconscious forces that shape our desires, fears, and behaviors. Civilization, Freud said, requires sublimation — redirecting instinctual energies into socially constructive forms. Unresolved traumas lead to neuroses — healing requires surfacing and integrating these unconscious conflicts.

It is the leverage upon which the conditions essential for progress are made possible and actualized. It is the springboard upon which the ideal of a harmoniously integrated progressive society will be attained. Eventually, each one of us will graduate from the 'varsity of LIFE' with honours — contributing to the PARADISE in the HERE and NOW.

1. When under temptation to lose our cool!

As our future is duly pregnant with hopes of redemption,
Our souls really reserve the right to absolute FREEDOM.
This is from all vexations, disturbances and humiliations.
It is a core right which is the most vital prime IMPULSE,
Upon which our MINDS are competently EMPOWERED,
To boldly climb the mountain of COGNITIVE evolution,
Towards the luminous summit of PSYCHIC PRESENCE.

Verily, to let loose our essence is our divine condemnation.
In the midst of regretful encounters and decadent betrayals.
Amongst myriad sorrowful raptures and even fallen ideals.
The growth of potent seeds of an AFRICAN RENAISSANCE,
Lies in transfiguring all and everything into a bright image.
Of our greatest ideals as well as our remotest conceivable aims.

2. When our freedom is threatened!

In total regard to our continual strives and endeavours,
To break-away from the degrading demeaning prison,
Of inherent PSYCHIC enslavement and EGO decadence.
Our fundamental rule of thumb shall purposively be:
Utmost non-negotiation with all forces and agents,
Of repressions, of regressions, as well as of depressions.
Construing no exception enough to cloud this RULE.

Verily, we must totally cut off all the shackles and manacles.
This is even if to the extent of being temporarily wrecked off.
Or falling unto the danger of suffering momentary grief.
It is to indulge in continual acquisition by ever-sacrificing.
This is the progressive language of an AFRICAN RENAISSANCE.
Whose bottom line is affluently aspiring to be wealthy and healthy.

3. On balancing personal needs with social requirements!

We should overtly accept the norms and conventions,
Which our naïve and insecure society exacts on us,
Only to the extent they oil the wheel of social relations,
And allow us to take liberty with its rules and laws.
Always being cautious not to talk disdainfully about it,
Seizing the privilege of doing gracefully what we want,
Aligning ourselves not to their letter but to their spirit.

Verily, cultivating the most intense and deep conviction,
That we have before us a greenly undiscovered territory;
The stimulating dream of an AFRICAN RENAISSANCE.
The boundaries of which no one has yet seen or witnessed;
A BEYOND to all areas, corners of any ideal known hitherto,
Endowed with all-encompassing beauty and utmost divinity.

4. In regard to proclaiming our personal independence!

Being and becoming our distinct independent selves,
Is the dedicated and confessed upon line of growth,
About which we should not tolerate or rather condone,
Even the least aberration, minor obstacle or impediment.
Any possibility of compromise should be thrown away,
And any suggestion at deviation, bending or corruption,
Should be frowned upon instantly and categorically.

Verily, the cravings of our conscience and consciousness,
Having been for so long saddened and bogged down,
By slavish dependencies and ill-fated depravations.
Having been conditioned to look at our worthiest hopes,
With ill-concealed amusements and bare satisfactions,
An AFRICAN RENAISSANCE shall be a new well-spring.

5. On guarding our psychic boundaries from intruders!

After enduring the spine-crushing blows of slave trade,
After overcoming the soul-destroying kicks of colonialism,
After traversing the mind-suffocating slaps of dictatorships,
The painful scars of Cold War are still fresh in our psyches,
When in competition, foreign powers sowed seeds of discord,
As altruism was squeezed out from our hearts' sanctuaries.
So, let us guard our psychic territories from further intrusion.

Verily, an AFRICAN RENAISSANCE is the first gush,
Of the recovery of the ill-body of our mother continent.
And this self-curative process will candidly continue,
To unimaginable splendid healthy and strong conditions.
As the African rises one's head high, eyes staring forward,
Trampling down all crushing messages on our impotence.

6. On putting supreme value to personal growth!

The most graceful and elevating exit from stagnation,
Is to break off and move away from a deceitful past;
From vegetative, sluggish, safe comforts of a former era.
And ascertain the safe haven of the present and future,
Where the real resources of our purposive thrive abides,
Rising from the paralysis that threatens to overtake us,
Violently thrusting ourselves into supreme exhilaration.

Verily, to escape from danger, ruin and gnawing abasement,
From the blindness and self-mutilation of our self-negation,
Of turning our heads hither sideways and ever backwards,
The call for an AFRICAN RENAISSANCE exhorts us,
To put aside all later days solemnities in bearing and word,
And in our truest involuntary activities, our hour hand moves.

Our sense and sensibility should timely come to our rescue,
And be our guiding star in this night of prejudices and biases;
Deliver us from the caves where nothing but darkness abides.

Of everyone's fallibility irrespective of one's position in LIFE.
Sensibility would mean the objective and expressive response,
To the recognizable worth of each individual's distinct traits.

Verily, it is true that we are all over in all corners of our LIFE,
Surrounded by most rogue people who can barely appreciate,
Even the least of our successes and happiness without envy.
But an AFRICAN RENAISSANCE merrily invokes upon us,
To wish for the best of everything and anything to everybody,
